Did you know you can earn credits towards CPCE certification at Be Sage Conference? You can. Which is another reason why you need to join us in Austin in February.

What exactly is the CPCE?

The Certified Professional in Catering and Events (CPCE) is a nationally recognized program and the mark of excellence for catering and event professionals. They’ve change the guidelines in recent years making it more accessible to event professionals.

Why would I need the CPCE?

I know, I know. Your wedding clients don’t care about the CPCE. You’re right.

But – you know who does care? Other event professionals. Wanna get into the Ritz Carlton as a preferred vendor? I can’t make promises… but showing that you are legitimate about being an event professional can give you a leg up. Wanna expand your business beyond weddings, and into corporate events? The CPCE shows that you’re not just flying by the seat of your pants.

Is it a lot of work?

Because you follow Sage – and all our brainy goodness – chances are that you are already doing ALL.THE.EDUCATIONAL.THINGS already.

You need to get 30 hours of education in 5 years. (UM – come to Be Sage and knock out 1/3 of that!) And, you need to take an exam. I have a feeling you’ll knock it out of the park quicker than it took me to pass my driver’s test in 1992 (4 times, people… I kid you not.) I’ve seen the content outline. You are a smart bunch… I have faith in you.

YOU CAN DO IT!

Be a Joiner. Be a Supporter. Be a Participator.

Lastly… this goes without saying… but, you should be a participator. People LOVE participators. When you’re deeply involved in the wedding community, people notice. And, the people that get noticed, get business. This is what having a ‘word of mouth’ business is all about.

I think NACE is a great organization. You can learn more about NACE and CPCE here: https://www.nace.net/grow/cpce/
