Happy New Year! I love a New Year! It’s a great time to start things on the right foot. We’ve got a little series this week to help you get your business strategy in place for 2017. Make sure to head back to yesterday’s post to read part 1 where I talk about reviewing 2016.
NEXT… create your foundation for 2017.
After you’ve reviewed your 2016, it’s time to make a foundation for the New Year. When you’re creating a business plan, you want to be specific about what you want to achieve. It’s not enough to say “I want to be featured in a magazine.” Which magazine? Why? What will this help you achieve? And – how?
You also want to create the STEPS by which you’ll achieve these plans. Sometimes goal-setting is too fluffy. Create a project for which you’ll achieve those goals and commit to seeing them through.
And, make sure to focus on your WHOLE business… not just the pieces that come easiest to you. Make a plan for each part:
- a marketing strategy
- an operational structure
- a financial strategy
And then identify how all these parts work together: how will your marketing strategy help you hit your sales goals? How will your operational structure help you service your clients? How will your pricing strategy help you achieve your financial goals? And so on!
Head on over to part 3 to read the rest of this series.
Make sure to check out the 2017 Action Plan to lay out your business strategy for the New Year. We walk you through how to plan your marketing, operations, and finances. And – if you want to write a business plan with me, Michelle, check out The Simple Plan Exclusive.
